Released on July 21st, Fading Echo is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), ahead of an upcoming release on Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S later this year. This debut game from studio Emeteria, developed for New Tales, received glowing reviews from the press right from launch, driven by an elemental combat system that critics praised. A success that G4F is proud to have contributed to, having signed off on the game’s entire sound design.

FADING ECHO, IN A NUTSHELL

Fading Echo is an action-adventure game in which players take on the role of One, a young heroine who can manipulate water and trigger elemental reactions to fight, explore, and solve puzzles. Her journey takes her across Corel and its fragmented worlds as she attempts to uncover the mystery behind the corruption threatening to make her universe disappear.

SOUND BUILT FOR A WORLD IN A THOUSAND PIECES

In Fading Echo, everything revolves around manipulating the elements and constantly switching from one to another. Each element needed its own acoustic signature, instantly recognizable to players in the heat of the action: water and its splashes, lava and its low rumbles, corruption and its distortions, as well as the entire world surrounding One. A precision job designed so that sound guides the action as much as it accompanies it.

G4F handled the game’s sound design, audio integration, post-production, and mixing, and took care of distributing the soundtrack. End-to-end support, from creating the sound effects to integrating them into the game engine.

A LIVELY, ORGANIC, PLAYFUL ATMOSPHERE

The result perfectly matches the game’s identity: colorful art direction and a decidedly playful tone, right down to the small sound effects that accompany combat. Together, this gives Fading Echo a lively soundscape, almost cartoonish at times, that beautifully complements its bold visual world.

The voice cast reinforces this identity, with voices like Laura Bailey, Samantha Beart, and Matt Mercer bringing to life the characters who accompany One throughout her journey.

A WORD STRAIGHT FROM THE SOURCE

To give the sounds a texture all their own, the team chose to step out of the studio and record part of their sound material on location, at the facilities of foley artist Florian Fabre, in Charente.
